Aluminum Casting Capabilities

In addition to having U.S.-based headquarters, Redstone Manufacturing has aluminum die casting manufacturing facilities in Mexico, China, Vietnam, and India. We can create parts for both small and large production runs. We pride ourselves in monitoring production processes, utilizing automation and robotics, performing regular maintenance to extend tool life, optimizing costs, and providing consistent, high-quality die cast aluminum parts. Our aluminum casting services are completely integrated, and we can guide you from concept to a fully assembled aluminum component.

Benefits of using Aluminum for die casting

Aluminum die cast parts are lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and they have more finishing options available than other die cast alloys. Its mechanical properties offer engineers impressive advantages in overall part design.

  • Exceptional corrosion resistance.
  • High operating temperatures.
  • Good strength-to-weight ratio.
  • High thermal and electrical conductivity.
  • Good finishing capabilities.
  • Fully recyclable material.

Aluminum Casting Alloys

Redstone’s Manufacturing’s aluminum die casting companies utilize a variety of aluminum alloys ranging but not limited A304, A360, A380, A383, A413, and B390.

A304 Aluminum

A304
Aluminum Alloy

Also known as K-Alloy, and it eliminates the need for painting, chromating, and anodizing. A304 has excellent corrosion resistance, and it has a 15% better cooling rate than A380.

A360 Aluminum

A360
Aluminum Alloy

High silicon content (9%-10%) provides A360 with high strength and high corrosion resistance, even under elevated temperatures. A360 also has excellent fluidity and pressure tightness.

A380 Aluminum

A380
Aluminum Alloy

A380 provides a good combination of thermal, casting, and mechanical properties. It’s resistance to hot cracking, pressure tightness, and fluidity make it a popular choice to cast engine brackets, electronic equipment chassis, and power tools.

A383 Aluminum

A383
Aluminum Alloy

Often used as an alternative to A380. In fact, A383 exhibits better corrosion resistance while still displaying good mechanical properties, ease of casting, and it is lightweight.

A413 Aluminum

A413
Aluminum Alloy

The castability of A413 makes it an ideal choice for intricate parts. A413 also has excellent pressure tightness and is often used to cast hydraulic cylinders.

A390 Aluminum

B390
Aluminum Alloy

B390 aluminum alloy has good wear resistance and high hardness. Its strength makes it an ideal choice for internal combustion engine pistons.
