Why Redstone

Quality, cost, and a clear fit

Redstone helps hardware teams move from released drawings to repeat production with documented quality, competitive unit costs, and engineering support from the U.S.

  • ISO 9001 certified facilities
  • U.S.-based engineering support
  • Direct manufacturing partner
Quality

Certified production on rotational geometry

CNC turning produces cylindrical parts, shafts, bores, and threaded features with the repeatability that a servo-controlled spindle and toolpath provide. Every turning program runs at ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certified facilities, with first-article inspection and full dimensional documentation included on every shipment.

  • ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certified facilities
  • First-article inspection with a dimensional report on every new part
  • In-process inspection on O.D., I.D., and thread dimensions
  • Certificate of Conformance and material certification with every shipment
Cost

High-cycle rotational production at landed cost

Turning is one of the most efficient machining processes for cylindrical geometry, with short cycle times on high-volume shafts, bushings, and fittings. Redstone quotes landed cost, with programming, tooling, freight, and duties in the number before you see it, so the savings from overseas turning rates reach your dock, not your freight invoice.

  • Around 20% average landed-cost savings vs domestic-only, based on internal comparisons
  • Short cycle times on cylindrical geometry support high-volume production economics
  • Programming, tooling, freight, and duties quoted up front
  • No offshore quote desk between you and the production line
Fit

Is this a fit?

CNC lathe turning is the right process for cylindrical and rotational parts: shafts, spindles, bushings, spacers, fittings, and threaded components. If your part also carries milled features such as flats, cross-holes, or keyways, our engineering team will assess whether a turn-mill center is the better route at the feasibility review.

  • Cylindrical and rotational parts: shafts, bushings, spacers, and fittings
  • Threaded components and turned connectors
  • Purely rotational geometry with no milled off-axis features
  • Engineering-led teams working from released CAD and GD and T
Parts built for production

What we produce

Redstone supports production metal parts across automotive, electronics, industrial equipment, and consumer hardware programs.

Shafts and spindles for industrial equipment

Shafts and spindles for industrial equipment

Turned shafts and spindles with O.D. profiles, shoulder steps, and threaded ends, produced at ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certified facilities with dimensional documentation on every batch. Suited to industrial equipment and automotive drivetrain programs with repeating volume.

Bushings, spacers, and bearing sleeves

Bushings, spacers, and bearing sleeves

High-volume bushings and spacers with tight I.D.-to-O.D. concentricity requirements are a natural fit for CNC turning. Short cycle times on simple rotational geometry support cost-efficient production runs, with in-process inspection on critical bore dimensions.

Fluid fittings and threaded connectors

Fluid fittings and threaded connectors

Turned fittings, adapters, and connectors with external and internal thread forms for hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid system applications. Thread form and pitch confirmed at the feasibility review; inspection includes thread gauge verification before shipment.

Rotational components for energy and industrial hardware

Rotational components for energy and industrial hardware

Turned components for pump bodies, actuator housings, and rotational assemblies in stainless and steel. Material certification and full dimensional documentation are included on every shipment to support regulated program requirements.

From quote to production

A five-step process, documented at every handoff

From initial drawings to final delivery, Redstone keeps each stage clear, documented, and aligned with production requirements.

Each handoff is documented. No stage moves forward until drawings, materials, and production requirements are confirmed with the customer.

  1. 01

    Submit Your Files

Upload CAD files or 2D drawings with diameter callouts, tolerances, thread specifications, and surface finish requirements. Our engineering team reviews each submission for turning suitability and flags any features that may be better served by a turn-mill configuration before quoting.

  2. 02

    Receive a Quotation

A full quotation covering programming, tooling strategy, unit pricing by volume tier, lead time, and material and finish options. One U.S. point of contact manages the program from RFQ through your receiving dock.

  3. 03

    First Article

We program and run a first article on the CNC lathe, then issue a dimensional report against every called-out diameter, length, and thread specification on your drawing. Samples ship to your engineering team for sign-off before volume production starts.

  4. 04

    Production

Volume turning runs at the assigned certified facility under documented quality control. Your U.S. point of contact sends progress updates and photo documentation throughout the run.

  5. 05

    Inspection and Delivery

Every shipment includes a Certificate of Conformance, a dimensional report, and material certification. We are the importer of record and coordinate freight to your dock. Landed cost on delivery matches the number quoted.

Frequently asked questions

Don’t see your question? Request a quote and our engineering team will answer it.

What is CNC lathe turning?

CNC lathe turning rotates the workpiece against a stationary cutting tool under computer-controlled motion. The process produces cylindrical features: O.D. profiles, tapers, shoulders, bores, and threads. It is the most efficient process for rotationally symmetric parts and is used across shafts, bushings, fittings, and connectors.

What is the difference between CNC turning and turn-mill?

CNC turning produces rotational features only. Turn-mill adds live rotary tooling to the lathe, so milled features such as flats, cross-holes, and keyways can be cut in the same setup. If your part is purely cylindrical with no off-axis milled features, a standard CNC lathe is typically the more efficient route. Our engineering team confirms the best process at the feasibility review.

What materials do you turn?

Turning programs run in aluminum, stainless steel, mild steel, and engineering plastics. Specific alloy grades and machinability are confirmed at the feasibility review.

What thread forms can you produce?

We produce standard external and internal thread forms including UN, UNF, metric, and pipe threads. Specialty thread forms are reviewed at the feasibility stage. Thread inspection is included on every first article.

What are your standard lead times?

Standard production lead time is 4 to 8 weeks from approved drawings, with first-article timing confirmed at the quote stage. Rush programs are reviewed case by case.

How do customs and delivery work?

We are the importer of record and manage customs clearance, then coordinate freight to your dock with tracking. Duties and freight are quoted up front so there is no surprise on the invoice.
