From quote to production

A five-step process, documented at every handoff

From initial drawings to final delivery, Redstone keeps each stage clear, documented, and aligned with production requirements.

Each handoff is documented. No stage moves forward until drawings, materials, and production requirements are confirmed with the customer.

  1. 01

    Quoting

Send part files, weldment drawings, and annual volume. Same-day technical feasibility review. Full quote within 48 hours, including fixturing, freight, and customs where applicable.

  2. 02

    Order Placement

Review the quote and production plan. Sign the production agreement. Redstone confirms facility assignment, fixture timeline, weld procedure, and first-article schedule.

  3. 03

    Fixtures and First Article

Fixtures and weld procedures are set against your drawings. First-article weldments ship to your engineering team for sign-off. Weld inspection records available on regulated programs.

  4. 04

    Production under SPC

Volume MIG welding runs at the assigned IATF 16949 certified shop. Statistical process control applied from first run. Lot traceability maintained end to end.

  5. 05

    Quality and Shipment

Third-party inspection at origin against your approved drawings and weld criteria. Dimensional report, visual weld inspection, and material certification included in every shipment. US customs brokerage handled. Landed cost on your dock matches the number Redstone quoted.

Frequently asked questions

Don’t see your question? Request a quote and our engineering team will answer it.

When should I use MIG instead of TIG?

Use MIG for speed, volume, thicker sections, and structural weldments where deposition rate and cost per joint matter. Use TIG for thin gauge, cosmetic seams, and high-precision joints where heat control and appearance matter most. Send your model and Redstone confirms the process at the feasibility review.

What materials can Redstone MIG weld?

Carbon and low-alloy steel, 300 and 400 series stainless, and 5000 and 6000 series aluminum. Solid and flux-cored wire with shielding gas matched to the base material. Send the material spec and Redstone confirms the wire and gas at the quoting stage.

What thickness range does MIG cover?

MIG covers a broad range, from sheet through heavier structural sections in multiple passes. Thin gauge below the single-pass range is routed to TIG for better heat control. Send your part thickness and Redstone confirms the process and pass plan.

What quality documentation does Redstone provide with shipments?

Every shipment includes a dimensional inspection report, visual weld inspection results, and material certification. Weld procedure and inspection records are available on regulated programs. Statistical process control records and material traceability are maintained for the life of the program.

Can Redstone re-source an existing weldment from another supplier?

Yes. Send the existing weldment drawings, weld procedures, and current supplier quote. Redstone assesses fixture and procedure transfer, runs a parallel quote with the certified shops, and projects landed-cost savings and lead-time impact before you commit. Existing fixtures are often re-usable.
