From quote to production

A five-step process, documented at every handoff

From initial drawings to final delivery, Redstone keeps each stage clear, documented, and aligned with production requirements.

Each handoff is documented. No stage moves forward until drawings, materials, and production requirements are confirmed with the customer.

  1. 01

    Quoting

Send part files, material spec, and annual volume. Same-day technical feasibility review. Full quote within 48 hours, including fixtures, freight, and customs where applicable.

  2. 02

    Order Placement

Review the quote and production plan. Sign the production agreement. Redstone confirms weld procedure, facility assignment, fixture timeline, and first-article schedule.

  3. 03

    Fixtures and First Article

Fixtures take 2 to 4 weeks. First-article weldments ship to your engineering team for sign-off. Weld procedure and welder qualification records available on regulated programs.

  4. 04

    Production under Inspection

Volume TIG welding runs at the assigned IATF 16949 certified facility. Qualified weld procedures applied to every joint. Lot traceability maintained end to end.

  5. 05

    Quality and Shipment

Third-party inspection at origin against your approved drawings. Dimensional report, visual weld inspection, and material certification included in every shipment. US customs brokerage handled. Landed cost on your dock matches the number Redstone quoted.

Frequently asked questions

Don’t see your question? Request a quote and our engineering team will answer it.

When should I use TIG instead of MIG?

Use TIG for thin-gauge sheet, cosmetic or visible welds, and stainless, aluminum, and exotic alloys where finish and corrosion resistance matter. Use MIG for thicker sections, structural assemblies, and higher-throughput runs where speed and cost per joint matter more. Redstone confirms the process per joint at the feasibility review.

What materials can Redstone TIG-weld?

Stainless steel in 300 and 400 series, aluminum in 5000 and 6000 series, carbon and low-alloy steel, and exotic alloys including titanium, nickel alloys, and copper alloys on qualifying programs. Send your material spec and Redstone confirms the weld procedure at the feasibility review.

How thin can you TIG-weld without burn-through or distortion?

Standard TIG runs from 0.02 inch upward, with thin-gauge control on foil-class stainless by program. Distortion and burn-through are held with fixturing, heat-input control, and pulse TIG where the gauge requires it. Send your part envelope and Redstone confirms the approach at the quoting stage.

What weld quality and documentation does Redstone provide?

Qualified weld procedures and welder qualification records are maintained for the program. Every shipment includes a dimensional report, visual weld inspection, and material certification. Penetrant and X-ray inspection are available on regulated programs in automotive, medical, and industrial.

Can Redstone re-source an existing welding program from another supplier?

Yes. Send the existing drawings, weld procedures, and current supplier quote. Redstone assesses transfer feasibility, runs a parallel quote with the certified facilities, and projects landed-cost savings and lead-time impact before you commit. Existing fixtures are often re-usable.
