From quote to production

A five-step process, documented at every handoff

From initial drawings to final delivery, Redstone keeps each stage clear, documented, and aligned with production requirements.

Each handoff is documented. No stage moves forward until drawings, materials, and production requirements are confirmed with the customer.

  1. 01

    Quoting

Send flat patterns or 3D files, grade and finish spec, and annual volume. Same-day technical feasibility review. Full quote within 48 hours, including freight and customs where applicable.

  2. 02

    Order Placement

Review the quote and production plan. Sign the production agreement. Redstone confirms grade, facility assignment, process routing, and first-article schedule.

  3. 03

    First Article

First-article samples are fabricated and ship to your engineering team for sign-off. Dimensional, weld, and finish inspection documented before volume release.

  4. 04

    Production under SPC

Volume stainless steel fabrication runs at the assigned certified facility. Statistical process control applied from first article. Lot traceability maintained end to end.

  5. 05

    Quality and Shipment

Third-party inspection at origin against your approved drawings and tolerances. Dimensional report, visual inspection, and material certification included in every shipment. US customs brokerage handled. Landed cost on your dock matches the number Redstone quoted.

Frequently asked questions

Don’t see your question? Request a quote and our engineering team will answer it.

Which stainless grade should I use?

304 for general enclosures, frames, and indoor structural parts. 316 for marine, chemical, and wet-service parts that face chlorides or acids. 316L for welded sanitary and food-grade assemblies where weld-zone corrosion is a risk. Send your model and service environment and Redstone confirms the grade at the feasibility review.

Does Redstone passivate and electropolish stainless in-house?

Passivation and electropolish run in-line at the certified facility. Passivation removes free iron and restores the protective oxide layer after fabrication. Electropolish smooths the surface to a clean, crevice-free finish for sanitary and food-grade parts. Redstone confirms the finish against your service environment at the quoting stage.

Can Redstone produce sanitary and food-grade stainless welds?

Yes. Sanitary and food-grade assemblies run TIG welding in 316L for clean, crevice-free joints, followed by passivation or electropolish. Weld procedures and welder qualifications are maintained for the program. Send your drawing and Redstone confirms the weld and finish approach at the feasibility review.

What tolerances and finishes can Redstone hold on stainless?

±0.005 inch standard across cutting and forming, tighter on qualifying programs on request. Finishes run from mill and No. 4 brushed to No. 8 mirror polish, plus passivation, electropolish, bead blast, and powder coat to RAL. Send your critical dimensions and surface spec and Redstone confirms what is achievable at the quoting stage.

What is the minimum order quantity?

$50,000 minimum program value. Volume programs only. Multi-year preferred. Send your annual volume and Redstone confirms the right facility and routing at the quoting stage.
